JB & B Leach, St Helens

estate agent • origin story • anniversary • brand storytelling • bespoke mural • hand painted

“We were introduced to Stef, and having seen the quality of her work, we were totally blown away by her talent.  We asked if she would create an illustration that demonstrated the journey of our business from 1856 to date.

We arranged a simple meeting to brief her on our business, the local town and where our business fitted into the local community.  We weren’t sure what to expect but Stef managed to draft and create something beyond our expectations!  Stef captured the journey of our founder, our business, and our relationship with the local community so perfectly and as we watched the illustration come to life on our office wall,  the finished piece was just breath-taking and we all felt quite emotional!

Stef worked tirelessly with such precision and passion until our art wall was finished. She allowed nothing to distract her, even with a full and busy office to work around!

Stef is such a pleasure to work with, friendly and approachable, she is a very talented, professional, and inspiring artist.  I would definitely recommend Stef without any hesitation.”

JB&B Leach are a well established and well loved local estate agents based in the heart of St Helens town centre. In 2021 they celebrated 165 years of serving the local community, and they wanted a statement mural piece to acknowledge the history and heritage of the business and the town.

After several meetings with the owners and the staff, I began to understand how JB&B Leach provides so much more than selling a letting houses. They are genuinely committed to helping the people of the local community to live well and thrive. This ethos has been handed down by their founder, Mr Leach, who was a Victorian philanthropist.

The final visual narrative tells the story of a business that forms part of the town’s legendary business community that has been supporting the local community ever since it was established in 1856. The use of colour helps to tell the story of how the spirit of philanthropy has been adopted by staff over the decades.

This is easily my most ambitious mural to date in size, scale and detail. Both the design and installation of the hand painted mural totalled over 80 hours.
