The Wire Way: walking tour illustrated map

community collaboration • map design • local charity • celebrating local heritage

The Warrington Wolves Foundation is the charitable arm of the Warrington Wolves Rugby League Club. They involve volunteers and work extensively with the community on projects to improve mental health and wellness through sport. This is an ongoing project, with the images below showing the work in progress. I am collaborating with the heritage volunteers at the club to produce a map and informational leaflet for their guided walking tour of Warrington, which features key sites around the town associated with the origins and history of the club.

The brief for the map was to be engaging and in keeping with the Club’s branding, with each of the seven main sites represented with an icon and a reference number, including high levels of accuracy with regards to the map itself, whilst not being to scale to allow for the whole design to fit comfortably in the leaflet format.
