The Nest, Three Wrens Gin

cheshire distillery • new location • brand storytelling • origin story • bespoke mural • hand drawn, hand painted

"We reached out to Stef as we wanted a special piece of artwork to go in the entrance to our new distillery, that would show the journey of our business, and incorporate things that have meaning to us. The initial contact was very easy, ideas were flowing and we received some draft designs quickly, which we loved. Stef came and completed the piece over the course of several days and it was amazing to watch! We get so many brilliant comments about the mural, it is a first thing customers notice when they come in and blends in seamlessly to the surroundings. All in all, a great decision to have the piece commissioned, and an even greater one to involve Stef Woof, who is absolutely brilliant in every way. Would not hesitate to recommend to others! "

Nick Wadeson - Founder, Owner, Master Distiller Three Wrens Gin

Award winning gin distillery Three Wrens Gin opened the doors of their brand new cocktail bar and small batch distillery site in the historic town of Nantwich. To celebrate, Owner Nick Wadeson contacted me to create a bespoke visual narrative piece that would tell the story of where they started, where they have been, and where they are now!

The mural features elements from the key locations associated with the Three Wrens Gin journey - Wrenbury, Combermere, Cholmondeley, and Nantwich. The colour scheme followed the decor of the bar, and I chose a metalic highly pigmented copper colour to make links to the copper distilleries on site, and to pop against the dark navy wall. The challenge of this design was the inability to project the design on site due to the dark wall, so drawing the design with chalk by hand with only my reference drawing makes the artwork truly one of a kind.

The result is a statement bespoke piece that greets customers as soon as they walk in, and invites people to explore the beautiful geography of Cheshire as they sip an award winning gin and tonic.
